“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” Timothy Keller
Kayla began her vows with this quote. This was one of the most authentic ceremonies I had the privilege of capturing so far this year. These two love one another and others so deep and well. The stories shared by loved ones throughout the day gave a beautiful picture of these two. My most favorite was Kayla’s dad who shared the first time he saw Kayla. He said it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, until the day he saw his daughter as a bride. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. From hand written vows, to prayers, to details that perfectly captured their pure and sweet love, this was a wedding for the ages.
