April 6th is a special date for a million and one reasons. First and foremost it’s my sweet Mama’s birthday. This is the third birthday I am spending without her but I can only imagine she’s drinking her rum n coke-but-really-pepsi in Heaven feeling healthy and happy.
Second, two years ago this day I second shot my very first wedding. I had done a handful of portrait sessions, but as I was photographing the groomsmen praying for the groom, I realized I was capturing an insanely intimate moment, and my heart came alive. I couldn’t come up with any other actual date that represented when Magnolia Adam’s Photography started. It was the dream I never knew I had. But that’s just like God, right? To surprise us and blow us out of the water with dreams and blessings before we even have an expectation.
This shoot was also a huge milestone for me. My first all film shoot. I didn’t even bring my digital out of the car. If I ruined these pics then these moments would be gone forever. Luckily I didn’t.
I put out a model call a few weeks ago and the response was amazing! Who knew so many people wanted free pics!? Anyways Ezrah messaged me and said that his girlfriend would be in town soon so we planned one. Though they’re not engaged, I wanted to be able to capture them and give them something to hold on to until they can live in the same city again.
